WILDERNESS, IT STARTS ON THE INSIDE, REDISCOVERS THE OUTSIDE THAT WAS ALWAYS THERE, JUST LYING UNDISCOVERED ON THE INSIDE, THEN UNCOVERS YOUR TRUE INNER SELF AND WHAT MAKES YOU COMPLETE AND AT ONE WITH THE WILDERNESS...

Thus reads the manifesto and motto for Inner Migrations a Safari To The Soul. As a fully licensed and experienced Game Ranger, Divemaster and Safari Guide, I have seen first hand the incredible insights and mask-shedding that deep exposure to the natural world can bring. Looking beyond the spectacular animals and gorgeous sunsets, one gets an instinctive feeling of a higher natural power, a spiritual awareness dawning in your own soul. An awareness that is strangely familiar, the stirring of old embers still glowing under an ash blanket of civilization, the unmistakable hollow feeling of old instincts that are still programmed into our survival manual and now starting to activate after lying dusty and forgotten down old dark corridors and musty archives. Over the years I have plotted a route back to these old forgotten rooms, unlocked then deciphered the huge volumes of the library called instincts. Blew the dust off the huge tomes called the psyche. Picked the padlocks of the manuscripts called awareness and was given the key to the huge unwritten world of spirituality.
A world indigenous tribes like the San Bushmen, American Indians and others worldwide have inhabited for over 30,000 years and is as familiar to them as our route to work is for us. A world that is on the doorstep to our senses, the other side of our skin and also living inside of us.
We need to, Inner Migrate, start a Safari To The Soul, see new scenery, discover new and amazing facts about ourselves and the animals we share this world with, start to live in the world inhabited by indigenous peoples, learn their secrets, discover the incredibly fine tuned rhythm of wildlife and most importantly the deep spirituality that governs nature and ultimately ourselves.
Did you know that elephants have funerals? That dolphins often target pregnant human mothers on dives? That termites have genetic engineering labs and their soldiers are both chemical warfare specialists and form suicide squads? That trees communicate when attacked by browsing giraffe and that the cheetah, due to its physical attributes is not really classed as a cat. All this you will learn in Inner Migrations, A Safari To The Soul.

The Inner Migrations experience is planned as a journey. Starting off as an educational course which by showcasing the wonders of wildlife, knowledge is attained and the amazing facts broaden the mind and feed the spirit. Slowly the focus shifts to our place in this world and how our instincts react to it. We then go on safari using wisdom attained, start to track, using meditation and visualization techniques that can be done anywhere and practised by the San bushmen (above) and finally, start to stalk and hunt, which in our case is the unlocking of instincts, the discovery of age-old psychic abilities and the incredible revelation of spiritual awareness.

Ne In the Inner Migrations world there are two game trails, or lectures.

AN AFRICAN EDEN, 24 HOURS AT A WATERHOLE, is approximately one hour in length. This covers the subject matter above and using my photographic images forms a slideshow and comprehensive lecture, discussing the habits and lifestyle of animals on a typical day, in an African game reserve around a waterhole from morning to night. Images of predation are included but they are tastefully presented and form the overlying tapestry of the natural world. This show is targeted towards schools, wildlife groups, colleges and the public in general.

INNER MIGRATIONS, A SAFARI TO THE SOUL, Is the full 16 lectures of the natural world and is geared towards the corporate, lifestyle, spiritual retreats and inner contemplation movements. The knowledge contained is intense and detailed, the meditation techniques ancient and natural and the wisdom attained, timeless.
Gary Pressman is a qualified Game Ranger, Divemaster Musician and Author, he gives talks and slideshows on African wildlife and holds a Diploma in Nature Conservation. After completing military service in the South African Air Force Gary worked as a professional big game hunter in Zimbabwe and South Africa for Fairchase Safaris before swapping his rifle for a camera. For 20 years Gary worked as a Wildlife Safari Guide and Game Ranger for some of Southern Africas premier Game Reserves. Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve was where Gary founded a Lion research project studying pride dynamics, cub populations, kill ratios etc. Bongani Mountain reserve was where Gary did research into Leopard and helping to start a brand new conservation lodge. Conducting overland camping safaris in the vast Kruger National Park with Kruger Park Packpackers was next where Gary initiated a tree identification safari that was very popular with visiting backpackers. Working as a Divemaster in Mozambique with Scuba Adventures Gary started a dolphin encounter business that took tourists diving with dolphins as well as conducting hundreds of dives on the tropical reefs with his emphasis being on reef ecology and the marine big 5. Photography became  a passion whilst observing the wonders of wildlife first hand.Gary travelled to Japan to study martial arts and eastern philosophy and spent years travelling around Asia, America and Mexico using his camera to record and document the fascinating stories of these places. Gary is a member of the prestigious FGASA [Field guides association of Southern Africa], NAUI [National association of underwater instructors] and PADI [Professional association of Diving Instructors]. He resides in England where he studies woodland management, composing original music on Piano and Guitar, conducting lecture based slide shows and with his wife Michelle has founded his own wildlife and photographic business using his experience in Africa and the world. His wildlife photography and lecture show entitled ,SOUL SAFARI AN AFRICAN EDEN, has been very popular in Hotels, Holiday camps and wildlife groups nationwide and around the world. Gary is also launching his autobiography entitled SOUL SAFARI, A JOURNEY INTO THE WILD,detailing his amazing and colorful life working and living with the wild animals of Africa and the Indian ocean as well as his military history and his childhood being raised on an African farm. Inspired by the English countryside where he lives Gary obtained his CITY GUILDS Diploma in Nature Conservation and Woodland Management. Furthering his passion for the countryside Gary also obtained his NCFE Qualification in creative crafts such as charcoal making, carving and tool making.
Michelle is a dancer having tread the boards at various theatres across the United Kingdom. Having served in the RAF as a adjutant in a civilian capacity she was based in Germany and at RAF Lyneham. She met Gary whilst he was doing a live music performance. Michelle is an invaluable half of Inner Migrations and with her dedication, and
empathy she is the bedrock on which this company is founded.
Below is a picture of Gary and the Ranger team at Bongani Game Reserve South Africa. Working in a new reserve they were instrumental in re-introducing wildlife long extinct in the area. Species like Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard were re-introduced and Gary started a Leopard habituation project that was very successful. Giraffe,Impala, Kudu and Zebra were introduced to provide the prey species for the carnivores and to reshape the habitat back to its wild state, often with help from the ranger team. Today, many years later  Bongani Mountain Lodge is a major tourist attraction for wildlife and a huge success. Below that is a picture of myself in the doorway and a fellow Ranger at Sabi Sabi Game Reserve discussing photography.
